Hello and Welcome

I'm sure you all know me by now, but for those that don't, my name is Paula Duncan and I'm a Scottish bespoke kilt maker.

I want to teach you all how to make a beautiful, well stitched, well fitted kilt.

We all have to start at the beginning, even those experienced in sewing, familiarising ourselves with the stitches is key to making the perfect kilt.

It's not just the stitches I'm training you for, it's keeping the lines matching and keeping the pleats uniform in pattern and size. 

There will be lots of pleating, unpicking, re-doing, but I promise you it is worth it in the end.

Eventually it becomes a natural process through muscle memory.

In this course:

1. I will be talking you through each stitch with diagrams and guidance for left or right handed sewing.

2. I will talk you through how to mark your sample with further diagrams and information.

3. I will be doing video demonstrations of all the stitches so you can practise before the real thing.

I had to make 3 practise kilts before I was allowed to even touch a real kilt!
